Ashton Symmetry Cigars

Ashton cigars are handmade in the legendary Tabacalera A. Fuente factory in the Dominican Republic.  Fuente makes some of my favorite cigars and that quality is seen in the Ashton brand.

Today I took out the Belicoso 5.25 X 52 from my humidor to have a smoke out by the fire pit with a pour of Blade and Bow Kentucky Bourbon.  The first thing that caught my eye was the exquisite band, classy and colorful and regal.  The wrapper a mahogany-brown Habano Rosado from Ecuador and has a nice oily, leathery texture.

The interior tobacco is from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua that produces a beautiful blend in a medium flavor profile and full-bodied cigar. I found it to pair well with a glass of bourbon, it has a nice woody flavor with notes of cedar, tastes of spicy black pepper in the beginning with nice coffee notes throughout.  There are a few floral notes that arrived as I got more midway into the smoke and it kept a nice balance between the spicy earth tones and the sweetness of the fruit and cinnamon throughout.

Overall a very nice smoke and one that I have decided to keep regularly stocked in my humidor.
