Brian R. Smith is an avid outdoorsman passionate about fly fishing, wing shooting, Safari hunting, and equestrian activities.  He and his wife Gretchen enjoy spending time with their horses and sporting dogs on the trails, rivers and in the sporting field. 

Brian and Gretchen have traveled the world riding horses up the Catalonia coast; fly fishing in the Pyrenees Mountains; riding, shooting and fishing in New Zealand; fishing on the Zambezi and hunting Buffalo in the Luangwa Valley of Zambia; and fly fishing for Peacock Bass in the Amazon.  His son Mason and daughter Ashton are also becoming well traveled young adults. 

Brian majored in English Literature at the Citadel in Charleston SC where he became a fan of the literature and enamored with the adventures of the likes of Ernest Hemingway, Robert Ruark, and Theodore Roosevelt.
