The May Fly Dance

May flies performing a ballet
Rippling currents make the stage
Waiting trout lay beneath
Flash of color ~ sparkling spots

Smooth cork in hand
Tip snaps forward a fluorescent loop
Feathered hook drifts the seam
Completed drift ~ roll again

Bamboo bending, line stripping
Rainbow running up the stream
Direction change, net in hand
Complete the release ~ off again
